Calamari Fritti


Calamari is a word that is used in the Italian language that refers to squid. In North America Calamari have become a very popular dish and are mostly fried. However, squid is very versatile and can be made in many different ways, such as with pasta, baked or even in risotto dishes. Today, I am sharing the most common of the squid dishes, "Calamari Fritti".

Ingredients:

300 g calamari rings
3/4 cup flour
1 cup spring mix salad
1/4 diced onion
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1tbsp Bertolli olive oil
Capri Vegetable oil for frying
Salt, pepper and lemon to taste

Method:

Place spring mix salad on large plate, add diced onions and set aside. Heat vegetable oil. Coat calamari rings with flour, fry until golden brown and let stand on paper towel for a few minutes. Add fried calamari  to salad plate and sprinkle with salt, pepper and lemon.
