Pork Dumplings
This is an easy recipe that can be made and eaten as a snack, dinner or even for lunch. It is one of my favorite recipes because they don't take too long to make. I started to make them this morning around 11:00 AM and we were eating them already at noon for lunch.
Ingredients:
Dough:
2 cups flour
1 cup water
1/2 - 1 tsp salt
Filling:
1 pound lean ground pork
1/4 cup chopped green onion
1 tbsp soya sauce
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 minced garlic
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp salt
1-2 tbsp Bertolli olive oil
Pepper to taste
1/2 cup water
Method:
Mix flour water and salt until soft dough is formed. Let set for about 1/2 hour. In the meantime, mix pork, onion, soya sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger salt and pepper. Divide dough in half and roll out first piece of dough. Cut circles, and place about 1 tsp of filling on each of the circles. Fold in half and press edges together using a bit of water. Place dumplings in frying pan with oil and cook on both sides for a few minutes. Add water and let cook for about 10 minutes. Remove from pan and serve with a sprinkle of green onion.
Enjoy!
