Salame Loaf
This is one of my mother's recipes which I am very excited to share. It is a loaf that is filled with various types of italian deli meats and provolone cheese that is baked. This is a wonderful recipe that would work for lunch, dinner or for a snack.
Ingredients:
300 g flour
1/2 tsp Fleischmann's yeast
1/2 tsp salt
100 g Bertolli olive oil
300 g hot water
Chopped italian deli meats
Cubed provolone cheese
1 beaten egg
Method:
Mix flour, salt and yeast. Add olive oil and water. Mix until dough is formed and kneed until smooth. Dough should be soft. Cover and let dough rest for 2 hours.
Cut dough in half and roll out both pieces 1/2 inch thick. Brush egg on edges of dough. Place chopped deli meat and provolone cheese on rolled out dough. Bring edge of one side over and seal with egg. Brush top with egg and bake at 400 for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Slice and serve.
