Spec Salad


Spec is a ham that is smoked and flavoured with Juniper berries and may include garlic, nutmeg and bay leaves. The flavours are smoked in using wood such as beech for two to three hours per day for about a week. Once that is done, it is then cured for five months. The end result of this smoked flavoured ham is an amazing, mouth watering delicacy.


Spec can be used in pasta or rice dishes, pizza, seafood dishes or even as a salad which is the recipe I am sharing today, Spec Salad.


Ingredients:


5 - 6 slices of Saputo Spec Ham
2 handfulls of romaine lettuce chopped
Grated scales of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
Bertolli Olive oil
Unico Balsamic Vinegar
Pepper


Method:


Lay romaine lettuce in plate. Add spec and cheese. Sprinkle with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and a bit of pepper.
