Brioche - Recipe 2


This is a variation of the previously posted brioche recipe. I made these to enjoy with my family christmas morning. Serves 12.

Ingredients:

Part 1:
1/2 cup flour 
1tbsp active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm milk
1tbsp sugar

Part 2:
5 eggs
3 1/2 cups flour
2 tbsp sugar
Pinch of salt
1 cup butter

Part 3:
1 beaten egg
Sugar

Method:

Part 1: Mix yeast, warm milk, 1 tbsp sugar and half cup of flour. Let rise for 10 minutes.

Part 2: In a separate bowl mix eggs, flour, sugar, butter and salt. Add mixture from part 1 and mix together forming a ball . Kneed on flat surface until dough is smooth. Let rise covered for 2 hours.

Cut dough into 12 equal pieces and form buns. Place on parchment lined baking pan and let rise covered for two hours. 

Part 3: Brush with egg and sprinkle with sugar.  Bake at 375 until golden brown.
