Penne Alfredo

Penne Alfredo is a very popular north american dish, believe it or not, it isn't italian. If you went to Italy and asked for Fettucine Alfredo or Penne Alfredo they wouldn't know what you were talking about. The closest thing to this recipe in Italy would be pasta with butter and cheese.

My family and I love this pasta dish, here is my version of it!

Ingredients:

500 g Barilla Penne Pasta
2 cups milk or cream
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp flour
1 tbsp fresh chopped parsley
2 cloves garlic
1/2 + cup Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese
Salt and pepper to taste

Method:

Bring salted water to boil and cook pasta for about eight minutes. While pasta is cooking, melt butter in sauce pan. Once butter is melted add flour and stir until all flour is absorbed. Add garlic, parsley, milk, cheese and salt and pepper. Let cook until thickened. Drain pasta, add sauce and a sprinkle of parmigiano cheese.

Buon Appetito!
