Bread Rolls


This is a wonderful bread recipe that is delicious and very easy to make.

Ingredients:

1 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup warm water
1 tbsp active dry yeast
11/2 cups of milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening
2 tsp salt
2 eggs
4 cups flour

Method:

Place warm water in bowl and dissolve 1 tbsp sugar. Sprinkle in yeast and let sit for about 10 minutes.
In a saucepan combine milk, sugar salt and shortening. Remove from heat once shortening has melted. Add eggs and yeast mixture. Add half of the flour in a mixing bowl. Add egg and yeast mixture and stir until smooth. Gradually add remaining flour and beat until smooth and cover with oiled plastic wrap and add a dish towel over top for extra warmth. Let rise for about an hour. Stir down with hands and let sit for 10 minutes. Fill prepared muffin tins 3/4 full and let rise for another 30 minutes. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes or until golden brown. When ready remove from pans. These rolls can be served warm or cold.
