Bacon and Cheddar Quiche


This is a wonderful quiche recipe that everyone will love, with the familiar ingredients of bacon and cheddar cheese. It is quick and easy to prepare for brunch or even as an entree for dinner.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup margarine
1 cup flour + 1 tbsp
1/2 cup frozen hash browns
1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp soya sauce
1/2 tsp of garlic powder
6 slices of diced cooked bacon
1/3 cup diced green onion
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups of low fat sour cream
1/2 tsp nutmeg
Salt and pepper to taste

Method:

Melt margarine in saucepan on minimum heat and remove. Add 1 cup of flour, hash browns, 1/2 cup of cheddar, soya sauce and garlic powder. Press into greased 9 inch round pan, add bacon, then cheddar and then green onion on top. In a bowl mix eggs, sour cream, nutmeg, 1 tbsp of flour, salt and pepper and pour over onion.

Bake at 375 for 40 minutes and let cool for a few minutes. Cut into wedges and serve.

Serves 6-8
